Privacy & Cookies

Last updated: 1 June 2026

CODEBIO ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This page explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how you can exercise your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Who is the data controller

The data controller for personal data collected through codebio.eu is the CODEBIO project consortium, coordinated by Greenagro Educational Center (Skopje, North Macedonia). For any privacy question, deletion request, or to exercise your GDPR rights, please contact privacy@codebio.eu.

2. What we collect

  • Newsletter: email address and country, plus the date you subscribed. Used only to send CODEBIO updates.
  • Contact form: name, email and message, used only to reply to you.
  • Technical: standard server logs (IP, user agent) for security and anti-abuse purposes, retained for a short period.

3. Cookies

We use a minimal set of cookies and similar technologies:

  • Strictly necessary — required for the site to function (e.g. language preference, authenticated sessions on internal areas). These are always active.
  • Analytics — anonymous, aggregated usage statistics via Google Analytics. Loaded only after you accept analytics cookies in the cookie banner.

You can change your choice at any time by clearing your cookie preferences in your browser and reloading the site.

4. Legal basis

  • Newsletter sign-up: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
  • Contact replies: legitimate interest in answering your message (Art. 6(1)(f)).
  • EU project reporting: legitimate interest of the consortium and EACEA reporting obligations.

5. Retention

Newsletter contacts are retained until you unsubscribe. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every newsletter or on our unsubscribe page.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port your personal data, and to object to processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact privacy@codebio.eu. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.

7. Anti-bot protection

Our forms use lightweight anti-bot protection (hidden honeypot fields and timing checks) to reduce spam. No third-party tracking scripts are loaded for this purpose.

8. Changes

We may update this page from time to time. The "Last updated" date above will always reflect the latest version.
